Haz Beenz

Posted by Coach Webster under General

So things have been pretty busy around here with the season right around the corner, and I wanted to make sure I wrote to keep you updated! We have doing really well with workouts, lifting, and conditioning like Coach O’Connell mentioned last week, and we’re really excited to see it all come together. We’re implementing a lot of new ideas this year, so it’s been a learning process for us as coaches along with our players. Every time I start to see what we’re looking for, I get so excited because I feel like we have a ton of potential this year!

Outside of work, I’ve been trying to get some things in before the season starts and it’s SUPER busy. I visited my parents this past weekend and then went up to see a friend in Chicago (the best city in the world) on Saturday. I always love going to the city because there’s so much to do and so much going on, and I get to see Solider Field!! My Bears struggled on Sunday though. It’s going to be a long season if we can’t find some offense.

But most importantly, I wanted to let you know what our Y League team that Coach O’Connell, Coach Mann, and myself all play on is currently 4-0 and dominating!! We’re called the Haz Beenz :) We’re old timers now like our players tell us all the time. Joking aside though, I love getting out there and having a place to play against some good competition. Like they say, every coach is a player whose fire never died.

Well, that’s all for now! Getting ready for the big premieres of Grey’s Anatomy and the Office tomorrow!!

Hello again

Hey there. Wow it has been a long time since I have written on this. Everything has been so crazy here since school started. But crazy is good because it means that time will go by quick and the first day of practice will be here before we know it. Next thing you know we will be playing our first game:)

Since school has started we have been able to work with our girls. It is a lot of fun getting out there and watching them play together and seeing what they can bring to the team. This week was the first official week that we could have them all together and it is so exciting seeing them all together. Although we are battling with some injuries our girls are looking better and better. The new ones are seeming to understand what we are trying to do and are working hard at it.

Our official practice starts October 17. Which means the days are getting shorter until our home opener against the Fighting Illini on November 14 at 2PM. No better way to start off the season then to play Illinois. Allows us to see where we are at.

Basketball aside, I have been extremely busy. Just moved into a new apartment complex and added an additional roommate. And the most exciting news of all is just two days ago I became an aunt. She is the most precious baby I have seen (maybe I’m being a little bias:) ). My sister lives in Florida so I don’t get to see her much. I will be able to fly down early October for about a week before our practice officially starts and spend some time there. I am so excited to see my sister and the baby. The baby’s name is Jocelyn Anne. And, in case you care which I’m sure you are as excited as I am, she weighed 5lbs 13oz and was 18 inches long. I am a very proud aunt and just thought I would share a little of that part of my life with you.

Well that is all I have for now but I will make sure to be more consistant when it comes to writing in here.
